Bland Shire Council has entered into a landmark Solar Power Purchase Agreement with Solar Professionals allowing Council to access cheaper electricity without making a significant capital investment to purchase solar infrastructure.

Having a registered total capacity of 211kW’s, solar infrastructure has been installed to 12 Bland Shire Council sites including, administration buildings, depots, treatment works sites, pumping sites, swimming pools, sports centres and health care facilities.

Under the Solar PPA, Solar Professionals will supply Council with electricity at a tariff which is approximately 39% less than previously paid to energy retailers. The electricity tariff will remain fixed for the term of the contract, allowing long term price certainty and will be an effective strategy in managing electricity price volatility and budget uncertainty.
